They say an unseen monster

Roams the ghost-town grounds

All air's a threat, all touch taboo

For everywhere, hide its hounds

They march the town, they knock on doors

They lurk in people's minds, in hope

To escalate, graduate, perpetuate, conflagrate

Their lungs and lives, so they can't cope

However, monsters need heroes, haven't you heard?

Who stand and fight and still fight back

Else no story, no tale to recount a day

That a stetho-sword halted their track.

Micelles and water, that holy duo

Their undisputed weapon of choice

Free and far, their trusty tongues

Urge its use, to hail sooner rejoice

The world is dead

In motion, not spirit

Economy, business, trade, enterprise

Swept away to the laborer's grit

A cough is enough, apparently, it seems

To bring Goliath humanity to its knees

And so, I make a desperate appeal:

Give their armors to those who need

Don't give up on the homeless, jobless, cashless breed

The ones who suffered the most are gone

However, more are claimed, every apathetic dawn

Claps and candles are well and good

Yet, they must know we did as much as we could

To test, to transport, to support the ill and alone

No religion's deaf to this monster's moan

The cure is far, and so are we

From friends, family, festivity, fun

Yet, try, try, try, just try, not to forget

That there's a day, we will step out

In to the sun.
